Hello! I have been an educator for 23 years. I was an early childhood bilingual teacher and literacy coach for 10 years with the Laredo Independent School District. I also taught two semesters as an adjunct instructor bridging literacy research into practice. My passion for literacy took me to the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk at the University of Texas at Austin. I spent 10 years on various reading intervention research studies and conducted professional development and technical assistance across Texas. In 2017, I moved back to Laredo to be close to family and to bring the reading research back to my community. I am currently the reading intervention teacher at San Isidro Elementary School.
